Objective:
This project aims to bring on board with Sharekkna amateur bakers, healthy food influencers, known chefs, and nutrition specialists who present 60-second videos about nutrition and food sustainability.
Project roadmap:
In this project, Sharekkna team, its volunteers, and partners invite people in the MENA region to contribute to sustainable food consumption. The challenge is shooting the making of delicious and sustainable recipes only in 60 seconds to inspire communities in the MENA region by presenting their creations on Sharekkna digital platforms. Sustainable food recipes consist of making food with minimum cost, avoiding animal products, using vegetables and grains to prepare meals, and being eco-friendly while cooking at home. The ingredients used are healthy for the human being: low in calories, cholesterol, triglycerides, sugar, and fat and high in proteins, fibers, and vitamins. The project also stresses reducing food waste and using any remaining food to prepare a new meal.
Background:
There is a strong relationship between food and sustainable development. What we eat and how we cook affects our health and the health of our planet. Quoting the Roca Brothers, who have used this ideal as a key part of their mission to fight poverty as newly appointed UNDP Goodwill Ambassadors to work with the Sustainable Development Goals Fund, “Food should not be a threat to sustainability, but a source of sustainable development”.
