Objective:
This project aimed to help vulnerable communities in the MENA region fight misinformation about COVID-19 by sharing verified, expert-led awareness content.
Project roadmap:
Through its partnership with Share Verified and Purpose, Sharekkna contributed to the #TakeCareBeforeYouShare and #PledgeToPause campaigns by identifying and mobilizing specialists from across the MENA region to support the production of awareness content.
Sharekkna provided experts in three key fields: medical, mental health, and media/communication, ensuring that campaign messages were grounded in professional knowledge and regional relevance. In addition, Sharekkna contributed field insights on the messaging to use, helping shape content that addressed the realities and needs of communities in the region.
Once specialists were approved, Sharekkna coordinated their engagement, supported the campaign process, and monitored activities on its platforms, reporting on performance and reach. Through this collaboration, Sharekkna played a key role in connecting credible voices with a wider public and strengthening access to verified information during the pandemic.
